Smart Home OS

One operating system that connects the technology in the house and runs it from one app, screen or button.

On this page

A smart home is only as good as the system underneath it. Control4 Smart Home OS 3 connects the lights, climate, shades, music, cameras and locks into one system, and gives the whole family one simple way to run it.

Every interaction is simpler

The interface was redesigned from the ground up, with more than a thousand refinements. In-wall and tabletop touch screens, the handheld remote and the app on your phone all show the same rooms, the same icons and the same favourites.

Made personal

Mark the rooms you use most and swipe between them. Put the scenes and devices you reach for every day on the main screen: a lighting scene, the garage door, a playlist. Each room can carry its own wallpaper, from a curated set or your own photographs.

The whole house at a glance

One screen brings together what matters across the house: which lights are on, which shades are open, whether the doors are locked and the alarm is armed. Icons show the state of each device, so you see it before you touch it.

Entertainment in every room

A media bar shows what is playing in the room you are in; the sessions view shows what is playing everywhere. Change the volume in one room or the whole house, skip a track or turn it all off from the same place.

Set up by engineers, not left to you

A whole-home system is not a do-it-yourself project. We design it, run it on a robust network, programme it around how you live and support it after handover, so the system stays simple to use.
